HISTORY: The Roasterie’s story began on November 22, 1978, when founder Danny O’Neill picked up his first batch of coffee beans while studying abroad in Costa Rica. After falling in love with the people and their coffee, Danny founded The Roasterie in his Brookside basement 15 years later, with the commitment to partner directly with farmers and pay above-market values to get the best coffee beans. Today, The Roasterie has expanded to a downtown Kansas City production plant with cafés in Brookside and Leawood, Kan. One of the most renowned specialty coffee roasters in the nation, The Roasterie is still committed to producing quality fair trade coffee.
