Kansas City, Mo.—Visit KC announced today the selection of hospitality and tourism professional Nathan Hermiston as the organization’s new Senior Vice President of Sales and Services. Hermiston joins Visit KC from Meet Minneapolis Convention & Visitors Association, where he’s worked since 2010 and most recently served as Senior Director of Destination Sales. He begins his new role on June 3.
“Nathan’s experience demonstrates his deep level of knowledge of the industry,” said Visit KC President & CEO Jason Fulvi. “Kansas City continues to earn accolades, and it’s in the national spotlight now more than ever before. We’re thrilled for him to join our team, and we’re ready to hit the ground running with some of the region’s most competitive and compelling assets in recent memory.”
In his most recent position, Hermiston oversaw both Meet Minneapolis’s convention sales team and its global tourism sales team. Prior to this promotion in 2017, Hermiston worked for the organization first as a National Account Executive before becoming Director of Destination Sales. Hermiston also worked in various small- and large-market sales positions for Hilton Minneapolis—the largest hotel in the city—and began his career at the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau, eventually reaching the title of Tour & Travel Group Sales Manager.
As Senior Vice President of Sales and Services, Hermiston will manage the development of strategic plans and strategies to attract and promote conventions, tradeshows and other major, citywide events to the greater Kansas City area. He will also be responsible for defining and overseeing sales programs that motivate the sales and services team to achieve annual goals, as well as the top-level department management of this team.
Hermiston graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Travel & Tourism and a minor in marketing. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2015.
