Visit KC Welcomes New National Accounts Manager

Emily Freeman to handle convention sales for the Midwest market

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Visit KC, Kansas City’s tourism and hospitality organization, is pleased to announce the recent addition of Emily Freeman as national accounts manager. Freeman brings more than 16 years of hospitality sales experience to Visit KC. Her first day was April 25.

In her role as national accounts manager, Freeman will handle convention sales in the Midwest market, a region which includes Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Her office will be based in Chicago.

Prior to joining Visit KC, Freeman served as destination sales executive for the Overland Park Marriott, where she was primarily responsible for closing business, in addition to building and strengthening relationships with key potential and existing clients. A graduate of the University of Iowa, Freeman’s background includes a variety of different sales and supervisorial roles with Marriott and Sheraton hotels, including as an account executive for Marriott in Minneapolis, Minn.

“Emily’s ability to drive sales results, coupled with her extensive experience and industry knowledge, makes her an outstanding addition to our expanding team at Visit KC,” said President & CEO Ronnie Burt. “Her presence in Chicago is a strategic move that will elevate Visit KC in a key market. Having a representative in this region will further our mission of positioning Kansas City as a premier destination for convention audiences.”

Freeman brings accolades to Visit KC as well. Her work was recognized with the prestigious President’s Circle Award, an honor given to the top 7 percent of each discipline within Marriott, as well as its Spirit to Serve Award for providing exceptional customer experiences.
