HISTORY: The Roasterie’s story began on Nov. 22, 1978, when founder Danny O’Neill picked his first batch of coffee beans while studying abroad in Costa Rica. After falling in love with the people, the culture and the coffee, Danny founded The Roasterie in his Brookside neighborhood basement 15 years later, with the commitment to partner directly with farmers and pay above-market values to get the best coffee beans. Today, The Roasterie has expanded to a Downtown Kansas City production plant with seven additional cafes throughout Kansas City, including a drive-thru. One of the most renowned specialty coffee roasters in the nation, The Roasterie is still committed to producing quality sustainable coffee.
