The organizations represented include: Oscar McGaskey, Jr., Kansas City Convention & Entertainment Facilities; Shannon Hickey, the Greater Kansas City Restaurant Association; Bud Nicol, Hotel & Lodging Association of Greater Kansas City; Kathy Nelson, the Kansas City Sports Commission; Brenda Tinnen, Sprint Center; and Burt, Visit KC.
“The primary emphasis of this group is to display alignment and strategically focus on KC’s future,” said Tinnen. “We will also concentrate on the key economic drivers of the city such as reinvestment of assets and strategic growth.”
Burt added, “We also want to engage different audiences like the business community, arts and cultural organizations, city government leaders and attractions and museums.”
The Alliance will also track growth trends in competing cities, discuss specific strategies and alignment on building the future hospitality industry.
“We have one common goal: To grow the future economic impact of hospitality and tourism,” said Tinnen.
