Visit KC Board Voices Support for New Single-Terminal Airport

Kansas City, Mo.—On behalf of the region’s leading hospitality and tourism organization, the Board of Directors for Visit KC released the following statement today:

In an effort to continue to advance Kansas City as a great place to live, work and visit, Visit KC supports the airlines’ investment in a new single terminal at Kansas City International Airport (KCI). We believe that a new single terminal, with all of the modern conveniences for travelers, is essential for the economic future of our region.

We agree with the many experts, including every airline that operates out of KCI, that a new single terminal is the fiscally responsible choice and a critical investment for our region, especially given the fact that taxpayers will not responsible for financing the project. We appreciate the significant due diligence that has occurred over the last three years in coming to this decision.

As the largest tourism organization in the Kansas City region, we support the airlines’ financing this more-than one billion dollar project that will positively impact our economy and our tourism future.
