Following a meeting of its Board of Directors today, Visit KC announced a new slate of executive officers, including a new chair for the hospitality and tourism organization.
CiCi Rojas, President of Tico Productions and Tico Sports, ascends to the position of Chair, a title she will hold for 2018 and 2019. Before leading the full-service, multicultural marketing agency, Rojas previously served for four years as President and CEO of the Central Exchange, an organization dedicated to helping women reach their personal and professional potential. Her background also includes leadership positions with Truman Medical Centers and the Hispanic Chambers of Commerce for Kansas City, Dallas and the United States.
In addition to Visit KC, Rojas is active on boards for Arvest Bank, the Kansas City Sports Commission, YMCA of the USA and the National Museum of the American Latino. She replaces Kevin Pistilli, President of the Raphael Hotel Group.
“As the chief sales and marketing organization for Kansas City, Visit KC plays a critical role in protecting and improving the economic future of our region,” said Rojas. “I welcome the challenge of continuing the great work of my predecessor, Kevin Pistilli, as well as supporting Visit KC’s talented and passionate team of 45 employees.”
Rojas’ immediate priorities include designating an interim President and CEO, spearheading a national search for a permanent leader of the organization and preparing for Visit KC’s 2018 Annual Meeting, which will be held Feb. 27 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
Joining Rojas on the four-officer slate is Cindy Circo, Public Affairs Manager for Kansas City Power & Light, who ascends to the position of Vice Chair. Jim Snow, General Manager of the Westin/Sheraton Crown Center Complex, ascends from a director position to the Treasurer role. Jeanette Prenger, President of ECCO Select Corp., continues her term as Secretary.
In addition to officer positions, Visit KC also announced the following changes today:
The organization’s Board of Directors is comprised of up to 30 civic and business leaders from the greater Kansas City area. The Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri, appoints 15 members and the Visit KC Board elects up to 15 members.
